Regional Police Division 3 arrested two suspects involved in a drug trafficking network, seizing 630,000 methamphetamine pills. They served as couriers delivering orders to customers on instructions and confessed to multiple prior deliveries, earning between 20,000 and 40,000 baht per job.
At 13:30 on 27 Jul 2016 at Regional Police Investigation Division 3 headquarters in Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Pol. Maj. Gen. Sonthaya Taedangphet, Commander of Regional Police Division 3, along with Pol. Col. Thammanoon Chimwong, Deputy Commander, Pol. Col. Ronaphat Thapthimthongchai, Investigation Division 3 Chief, and Pol. Col. Pornthep Tuyphae, Investigation Division 2 Chief, jointly announced the arrest of Vinai or Mit Narinn, 45, from Chakkarat District, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Narakoon or Wine Wannawijit, 28, from Khok Sawang Subdistrict, Nong Ki District, Buriram. They were suspects in a methamphetamine trafficking case, with 632,000 pills seized along with two mobile phones and a maroon Nissan Almera car registered in Buriram.
Previously, police received complaints from residents in Chakkarat District, Nakhon Ratchasima, that Vinai, a local from Jod Krating Village, Khlong Mueang Subdistrict, Chakkarat District—an area bordering Nong Hong and Nong Ki Districts in Buriram—was part of a drug network linked to Warawut or New Nong Ki Lamphun, a wanted major drug dealer currently hiding in a neighboring country. Vinai's role was to deliver drugs to customers as ordered.
After nearly a month of investigation, police learned that on the night of 26 Jul, Vinai was going to receive methamphetamine pills. Authorities planned and arrested him while he was driving the mentioned car on Lam Plai Mat-Khu Mueang Road at Ban Talat Pho Intersection, Village No. 1, Talat Pho Subdistrict, Lam Plai Mat District, Buriram. Narakoon or Wine was also inside the car. A search found the methamphetamine packed in plastic sacks. Both suspects and all evidence were taken to the Regional Police Investigation Division 3 for questioning.
Both suspects confessed to being hired by Warawut to receive and store methamphetamine pills, awaiting delivery to customers who ordered from him. They earned 20,000 to 40,000 baht per delivery, depending on the destination, and admitted to doing so multiple times. Police will continue to investigate to find accomplices and will hand over the suspects and evidence to Thamenchai Police Station, Buriram Province, to proceed with legal charges.
