
A tragic event occurred in Udonthani Province where a 51-year-old man was found dead lying beside a pit containing a dog's body. It is believed the deceased fainted and died while digging the soil.
On 28 July 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Police Lieutenant Chinatip Buakhem, Deputy Investigator at Non Sa-at Police Station in Udonthani, received a report of a death at a cassava field east of Ban Srisawat, Village 8, Pho Si Samran Subdistrict, Non Sa-at District, Udonthani. He promptly went to the scene and coordinated with the Non Sa-at Rescue Association to assist.
At the scene, the body was found lying on its back. The deceased was identified as Mr. Somchai Prakobmee, age 51, a resident of Non Sa-at Subdistrict, Non Sa-at District, Udonthani.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased lived alone. Relatives last saw him about a week prior and discovered him dead on 28 July 2026 at around 10:00 a.m. No signs of injury or assault were found initially.
At the scene, a hoe used by the deceased to dig a grave for burying the dog was found. It is believed he fainted and died while digging the pit. Rescue workers buried the dog in his place. Relatives did not dispute the cause of death. Authorities sent the body for a thorough examination at Non Sa-at Hospital and will continue the investigation.
