This is due to a monsoon trough crossing the North and Northeast, combined with a fairly strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The public is advised to be cautious of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff floods, especially in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands.
Waves in the upper Andaman Sea are fairly strong, reaching 2-3 meters high; in areas with thunderstorms, waves exceed 3 meters. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea have waves about 2 meters high; in thunderstorms, waves exceed 2 meters. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea are advised not to depart during this period.
