The 37th death from the Lat Phrao brewery fire victims is a 25-year-old female customer who had been hospitalized since the day of the incident. Police revealed that the investigation is ongoing, with only 6-7 more testimonies from electrical officials and related parties remaining. The case is expected to have more complete evidence by next week.
Regarding the tragic brewery fire at Lat Phrao entertainment venue during the late night of 12-13 July 2026, 36 people died either at the scene or after receiving treatment at various hospitals, with 79 people suffering burn injuries.
As for the case, investigators from Phahonyothin Police Station are gathering evidence to prosecute for negligence and building control law violations. They have already interviewed over 150 witnesses, including business operators, injured persons, relatives of the deceased, and experts from relevant agencies.
Meanwhile, Mr. Suwicha Sailabat, 45, the owner of the establishment, has not yet been questioned because he remains in ICU at Paolo Hospital Kaset. Regarding the city’s fact-finding, Bangkok authorities have ordered Mr. Prasat Phosrimat, director of Chatuchak District Office, to assist the Bangkok City Clerk’s office to ensure transparency and avoid disruption of official duties, as previously reported.
At 05:39 on 29 July 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Peeraphong Phosri, deputy investigator at Phaya Thai Police Station, confirmed that Ms. Oranong Sarisri, 25, one of the fire victims receiving treatment at Rajavithi Hospital, passed away, becoming the 37th fatality. Poh Teck Tung Foundation transported her body for autopsy at the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine.
Police Major General Kiatkul Sonthiener, commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, said the 37th victim was a customer who had been treated at Rajavithi Hospital since the day of the fire and died early this morning.
Regarding the case progress, the investigation is about 70-80% complete, with only testimonies from Metropolitan Electricity Authority officials and 6-7 related witnesses outstanding. Mr. Suwicha Sailabat has not been charged yet as he remains in ICU. Authorities expect to gather all evidence next week to complete the case file.
