On 30 Jul 2026, the Meteorological Department issued a statement "heavy to very heavy rain over Thailand" effective until 30 Jul 2026, Issue No. 14, stating that "In the northern, eastern, and western southern regions, there is very heavy rain in some areas, while the northeastern, central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the eastern southern region, have heavy rain in some places.
This is due to a monsoon trough passing over the north and northeast regions, combined with a fairly strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The public is advised to be cautious of the dangers from heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and flash flooding, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying areas.
Regarding sea conditions, the upper Andaman Sea is experiencing fairly strong winds with waves 2-3 meters high; in areas with thunderstorms, waves exceed 3 meters. The upper Gulf of Thailand and the lower Andaman Sea have waves around 2 meters high; in thunderstorm areas, waves exceed 2 meters. Fishermen in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate carefully and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from leaving shore during this period.
However, for safety and to reduce possible impacts, the public is urged to plan their activities and travel cautiously during this period.
