Most recently, at 08:30 on 30 July 2026, reporters reported that at the home of Halun Solo, or Mr. Bawornthat Pengsuk, 27, a famous Thai backpacker YouTuber, local officials and community leaders visited to inquire about the facts and offer support to the family after news confirmed Halun's body was found at a hotel in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
The atmosphere was filled with grief, especially Ms. Som Pengsuk, the grandmother who raised Halun since birth, Mr. Somsak Butsri, his older brother, and Miss Borlak Pengsuk, his older sister, who have not yet come to terms with the tragic news of losing their beloved grandson and younger brother far from home. Both have already traveled to Bangkok since early morning.
Ms. Som Pengsuk, 82, Halun's grandmother, said she still cannot believe her beloved grandson passed away prematurely. After losing contact, she had no premonitions and still held hope that her beloved grandson was alive and safe.
Since yesterday and through the night, she has been unable to sleep, worried and missing her grandson deeply, hoping to see him return home safely as he always had before. She expressed gratitude for all the support from everyone, all agencies, and social media users who have helped search for Halun and continuously offered encouragement.
Ms. Som also said that late last night, Mr. Somsak Butsri, Halun's 29-year-old brother, received confirmations from multiple social media users informing him that Halun had died. However, official evidence from the consulate is still awaited, and the family and relatives are still trying to come to terms with the situation.
Regardless of what happens, they must accept the truth. They will coordinate with relevant agencies to confirm whether Halun is alive or deceased. If confirmed deceased, they will proceed with the necessary arrangements or handle funeral matters later.
Regarding social media allegations that Halun's death was a suicide, the grandmother firmly rejects this. She said Halun was usually cheerful and friendly, showing no signs of someone who would end their own life, so she does not believe these claims at all.
Meanwhile, Halun's relatives have raised doubts about the cause of death, believing there is something unusual. They questioned the timeline reported that Georgian police found the body in the hotel and could not contact the family, noting that the hotel should have passport information from the check-in. They seek clarity on the cause of Halun's death.
Regarding funeral preparations, the family has not taken any steps yet as they await coordination with authorities in Georgia. There is no clear report on whether the body will be repatriated for ceremonies at the hometown in Somdet District, Kalasin Province, followed by cremation, or if cremation will occur in Georgia with the ashes returned for merit-making ceremonies at home. The family will discuss these matters further.
