Man Films Complaint Claiming Bus Staff Made Him Sit in Luggage Compartment Under the Vehicle

A man posted a video venting his complaint, claiming bus staff made him sit in the luggage compartment under the vehicle, causing him such concern that he sent a last message to his sister.

On 31 July 2026, a reporter received a video from Mr. Keng, 27, from Sisaket province, who claimed that staff of a private bus company assigned him to sit inside the luggage compartment under the bus after boarding at Samrong Thap district, Surin province, heading to Phan Thong district, Chonburi province. The trip departed at 8:00 p.m. on 30 July 2026. He said he felt shocked and suffocated due to the presence of luggage, diesel fumes, and water splashing inside the compartment, so he recorded the clip to show the reporter.

Mr. Keng said he booked a ticket beforehand and was told by staff it was an “additional bus” with VIP seats, so he expected normal seating. However, upon boarding, all seats were full, and staff took him to sit in the luggage compartment under the bus. When he asked if it was really allowed to sit there, staff replied, “You can stay.” When he asked if it was dangerous, the answer was, “You won’t die.” Feeling anxious, he recorded a video and sent a last message with his phone unlock code to his sister in case of an unexpected incident during the journey.

Ms. Porn, 36, Mr. Keng’s sister, revealed that originally she intended for her brother to book a ticket on another bus company, but tickets were sold out, so he used this private company instead. Around 9:00 p.m., her brother sent her the phone unlock code, followed by the video claiming he was made to sit in the luggage compartment under the bus. She was shocked and worried, believing it was not a proper place for passengers to sit, and that it would be dangerous if an accident occurred. She urged the operator to be straightforward with passengers when the bus is full and not to overbook in ways that risk passenger safety.
