Weather Conditions Today, 1 Aug 2026: Meteorological Department Warns of Heavy Rain in Some Areas Nationwide Bangkok Experiences 60% Rainfall

The Meteorological Department weather forecast Thailand continues to experience heavy rain in some areas due to a monsoon trough passing over the upper northern region. Bangkok and its vicinity have thunderstorms covering 60% of the area, with some heavy rain in certain places.

The Meteorological Department warns that heavy rain will persist in some areas across Thailand today.

On 1 August 2026, the Meteorological Department's website forecasted that Thailand will continue to have heavy rain in some areas due to a monsoon trough crossing the upper northern region and upper Laos, along with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. People are advised to be cautious of dangers from heavy and accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, especially in hilly areas near waterways and lowlands.

In the upper Andaman Sea, waves are 1-2 meters high, while in the lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, waves are about 1 meter high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters.
