On 2 August 2026, the Facebook pageof the Meteorological Departmentposted a message regarding "Typhoon Dolphin (DOLPHIN) has not entered Thailand" stating that "Typhoon Dolphin (DOLPHIN) has not entered Thailand. It remains far in the Pacific Ocean and is moving toward Japan and China, not directly toward Thailand.
Between 7 and 9 August 2026, there may be indirect effects where the typhoon helps strengthen the monsoon covering Thailand, causing heavier rainfall in some areas, especially in the northern and upper northeastern regions.
A tropical depression east of the Philippines might briefly intensify into a tropical storm but is expected to be absorbed and weakened by a larger storm, so it is unlikely to directly affect Thailand. Current rainfall in Thailand is mainly due to monsoon troughs and monsoons, not from Typhoon Dolphin entering the country.
