Tragic Discovery: 4-Year-Old Nong Film Found Dead After Over 10 Hours of Search

Officials and villagers joined forces in an intensive search for "Nong Film" the 4-year-old boy for over 10 hours after he went missing from home, ultimately found drowned in a canal about 200 meters away.

On 3 August 2026, reporters reported that the search operation for "Nong Film" the 4-year-old boy who disappeared from Moo 1, Ban Khuan Na Nhod, Na Nhod Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phatthalung Province, continued for over 10 hours before his body was found submerged in a canal about 200 meters from the house, causing deep sorrow among family and villagers who searched throughout the day.

Mrs. Luan Khongsorn, 84, revealed the incident happened around 11 a.m. after Nong Film finished bathing and ran out wearing only shorts. Due to the child's playful nature, within about half an hour, the family noticed he had not returned and began searching likely spots but found no trace.

Relatives and villagers then helped search around the house, garden, and nearby forest while continuously calling his name but found no sign. They requested assistance from Phatthalung rescue workers and Mueang Phatthalung local officials to plan and spread out, thoroughly searching all high-risk areas including dense forest, canals, and nearby water sources.

The search continued with hope from family and villagers until about 8:50 p.m., when relatives found Nong Film’s body in a canal approximately 15 meters wide, 30 meters long, and about 5 meters deep, roughly 200 meters from the home.

After the body was found, officials inspected the area and recovered the body from the water amid the deep sorrow of relatives and search participants. This tragic event deeply affected the community after everyone had exerted full effort searching for over 10 hours, ending with heartbreaking news no one wished to face.
