On 4 August 2026, the Facebook page of theMeteorological Departmentposted a weather outlook for 6 to 9 August 2026, stating that the North, Northeast, and East will experience increased rainfall, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas. The Central region, Bangkok, its metropolitan area, and the South will have heavy rain in some areas.

Factors

include a monsoon trough stretching across upper Northern and upper Northeastern regions, and a strong southwest monsoon.

Sea conditions

• in the Andaman Sea will feature waves 2-4 meters high, with waves exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas.
• In the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves will be 2-3 meters high, with waves over 3 meters in thunderstorm zones.
• Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand are advised to stay ashore.

Regarding Typhoon "Dolphin (DOLPHIN)" it will not enter Thailand but will indirectly strengthen the monsoon covering the country, causing heavier rainfall in some areas. Travelers going to Taiwan and China are advised to check the weather before traveling.
