Tragically, the bodies of a family of three victims of a buried murder case have arrived at Khao Boonmee Dararam Temple in their hometown. The deeply saddened abbot volunteered to arrange the funeral free of charge with no expenses.
Update on the shocking five-victim murder case involving two Russian siblings and a family of parents and child buried on the Mab Fuktong hill near Yan Sangwonaram Temple along the new Bangkok-Mabtapud Motorway at kilometer 139 and the coconut grove opposite, in Huay Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Police have apprehended four suspects involved in the crime and are proceeding with legal action.
At 15:30 on 4 August 2026, officials from Sawangboriboon Thammasathan Foundation of Pattaya brought the bodies of the family — Mr. Wichian Wongsa, 53; Ms. Chantana Chatin, 50; and Ms. Nichapha Wongsa, 18 — who died in the incident, to Khao Boonmee Dararam Temple in Ban Thung Kha, Huay Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. The atmosphere at the temple was deeply sorrowful and heavy-hearted, with many relatives and local residents waiting to receive the bodies. There were also strong criticisms of the perpetrators’ behavior and calls for Mr. Pong to receive the death penalty to face justice.
Phra Kru Palat Theerayut Chotiko, also known as "Luang Phi X," abbot of Khao Boonmee Dararam Temple in Ban Thung Kha, Huay Yai, told reporters that he and his disciples are determined to hold the funeral for this family—father, mother, and child—who are local residents. He intends to provide the funeral and cremation services free of charge because the family was poor and the deaths were unnatural and brutally cruel.
Additionally, he accepted an invitation from the rescue officials of Sawangboriboon Foundation Pattaya to travel to the burial site of all five victims to perform a merit-making (Bangsukon) ceremony and share the merit. He admitted feeling deeply saddened. Upon returning to the temple, he resolved to arrange the funeral for this family.
