A Thai woman is pursuing legal action against a "foreign man" for molestation and sexual harassment on an airplane. She gave a statement at Don Mueang Police Station and handed over the pants she wore on the day of the incident to investigators for DNA testing.

Most recently, at 14:30 on 4 Aug 2026, at Don Mueang Police Station, Khun Pim, the victim, came to meet Police Lieutenant Colonel Siriprapa Kuvelarat, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) of Don Mueang Police Station, to give her statement and handed over the pants she wore on the day of the incident as evidence.
After giving her statement, Khun Pim revealed that after filing the complaint, she brought the pants worn during the incident to the investigators. She described the incident: She and her 4-year-old daughter traveled from Italy and had a layover in Dubai to continue to Thailand on a 02:45 flight. She was assigned seat 32A and her daughter 32B; the perpetrator, a Pakistani man, was already seated at 32C. She asked her daughter to switch to 32A by the window. When she first sat down, she noticed the man resting his hand on her armrest, making her uncomfortable. She did not think much and fell asleep due to fatigue. Upon waking, she felt a hand touching and rubbing her right buttock and sensed wetness.
At that moment, she could do nothing because her daughter was sleeping on her lap. She planned to wait until the plane landed to call for help. She only managed to shift slightly to signal she was awake. She looked at him, and he seemed to realize and looked back, then touched the screen on the seatback in front of her, even though he had his own seat.
When the plane landed, she called staff and reported the incident. A Thai ground staff member from the airline came on board and pointed out a stain on the right hip area of her pants, clarifying what the wet feeling was.
She feels fortunate this did not happen to her daughter. If she had not changed seats, she wonders what could have happened. She is upset that, despite traveling with her child, the man still behaved this way. She spoke out to warn women traveling alone or with children to be more cautious. She stressed she was modestly dressed in long pants and a covering shirt when the incident occurred. She thanked the airline staff for their immediate assistance and said she will now leave the matter to the legal process.
Meanwhile, Police Colonel Wanchai Wongwanichanan, Chief of Don Mueang Police Station, stated that such cases are very rare. Therefore, legal review is necessary because the incident occurred on an airplane operated by a foreign airline. Generally, laws addressing sexual offenses, especially molestation, are not explicitly defined in this context.
They consulted subsidiary laws and found the Aviation Offenses Act, Section 11, which states that anyone committing such acts on an aircraft during flight faces penalties of up to three years imprisonment or a fine up to 120,000 baht, or both. The investigation continues, including DNA testing of the pants worn by the victim on the day of the incident to support prosecution.
