A monsoon trough passes over the upper northern and upper northeastern regions, combined with a strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. This causes increased rainfall and heavy to very heavy rain from 6 to 9 August 2026 in many areas of the north, northeast, east, central, and south regions.
They urge vigilance for areas prone to waterlogging in urban communities with regular flooding, as well as areas at risk of flash floods, mountain runoff floods, and landslides due to heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall. The provinces are Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, Tak, Sukhothai, Phetchabun, Chaiyaphum, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, Kanchanaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phang Nga, Krabi, and Phuket.
