The body of "Hlun Solo" arrived at his home in Kalasin. The family held a Matika Bangsukoon prayer ceremony. The grandmother felt encouraged, began to smile, and said she was happy to have the body returned. She thanked everyone for their support to the family and expressed appreciation.
At 17:17 on 7 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that the procession carrying the body of Mr. Bowornthat Pengsuk, known as "Hlun Solo," a travel YouTuber who died suddenly in Georgia, returned to his hometown in Somdet district, Kalasin province, for religious rites. Kalasin Governor Mr. Suwat Khemthanaphet, government officials, related officers, family members, and villagers awaited the arrival.
Upon arrival, his elder brother performeda ceremonial announcementaccording to tradition before the ivory-white coffin containing Hlun's body was unloaded from the vehicle and placed in the designated ceremony area. Only family members and authorized personnel were allowed in to maintain order. The atmosphere was filled with sorrow, with some relatives shedding tears from grief.
Subsequently, the family conducted a Matika Bangsukoon prayer ceremony to dedicate merit to the deceased.
The family has scheduled a three-day funeral prayer from 8 to 10 August 2026, followed by a cremation ceremony on 11 August 2026 at Wat Rangsee Chatchawan in Somdet district, Kalasin province.
After the ceremony, Hlun's grandmother came out to thank reporters for covering the story and revealed her gratitude for all the support given to the family. She said she was most grateful and had nothing to repay the kindness shown in caring for her and thanked everyone sincerely.
When asked if she felt relieved that her grandson’s body had returned home, the grandmother nodded in response. She said she was already happy to have his body back and was content. She said he brought merit, was a good person, and like an angel, giving her comfort. She said she no longer worried and believed he had gone on peacefully as an angel. Earlier, she said she told him she missed him and invited him to eat since he hadn’t eaten for several meals. He came to eat and received blessings. He did not like many foods except avocado.
When asked how she felt about Hlun being a role model for many children in education and success, she raised her hands in prayer and said she was happy, proud, and joyful that her grandson was loved and praised by others.
Hlun Solo’s elder brother revealed that in recent days he had managed to cope. The family will hold religious merit-making ceremonies. He expressed concern over the autopsy since the body was kept for a long time, which could affect the heart as the doctor previously explained. Now they must wait for Georgia's side, who holds all the evidence. On the way home, he told his brother to come back to the grandmother. Today, the grandmother is feeling better and more encouraged. He expressed deep gratitude for the immense love shown to his brother. Regarding Hlun’s YouTube channel and assets, he said they have not yet considered those matters and will rely on the embassy to follow up on legal and property issues.
