The Meteorological Department issued its final announcement warning of "heavy rain," listing provinces still affected and advising caution against floods and flash floods. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand are advised to stay ashore until 10 Aug 2026.
On 9 August 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued Announcement No. 12 regarding strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, and heavy to very heavy rain across Thailand (effective until 9 August 2026), stating that
the North, Northeast, Central, and Eastern regions continue to experience heavy rain in some areas due to the monsoon trough crossing the upper North and upper Laos, combined with the relatively strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The public is advised to beware of dangers from heavy and accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and flash floods, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying areas.
Regarding sea conditions, the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand have relatively strong winds, with waves 2-3 meters high, and waves over 3 meters in areas with thunderstorms. Mariners in these seas should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand should continue to refrain from going out to sea for an additional day (until 10 August 2026).
