On 9 August 2026, at Si Yak Village, Moo 10, Somdet Subdistrict, Somdet District, Kalasin Province, the atmosphere at the funeral of Mr. Bawornthat Pengsuk, known as "Halun Solo," a famous backpacking YouTuber who passed away in Georgia, was solemn. At 6:30 p.m., the second night of the Buddhist funeral chant took place, chaired by Professor Dr. Wiles Phurivat, Rector of Chulalongkorn University, together with Associate Professor Dr. Sukanya Sompailoon from Chulalongkorn University’s Chula-Rural Center and the Chula-Rural Alumni Association, as well as Mr. Ram, a Malaysian friend and travel companion of Halun, alongside many neighbors and fans who attended in large numbers.
Professor Dr. Wiles Phurivat, Rector of Chulalongkorn University, led the delegation to pay respects with deep condolences, then offered support to Halun’s grandmother, and praised Halun as a model youth in life quality development.

He also expressed gratitude to Halun’s grandmother for raising him well, acknowledging her as a good public figure with good thoughts, serving as a continuing role model, and thanked the family for raising a grandchild who became a role model for society.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that on the evening of 10 August, Kalasin Province, led by Mr. Suwan Khemthanaphet, Governor of Kalasin, along with Mr. Wirat Ratcharee, District Chief of Somdet, and all relevant agencies, will co-host the final night of the Buddhist funeral chant for Halun.
On the afternoon of 11 August 2026, the cremation ceremony will be held at Rangsee Chatchawan Temple, Moo 4, Somdet Subdistrict, Somdet District, Kalasin Province. It is expected that thousands of people will attend to pay their respects.
