Chalong Riewrang Opens Up About Meeting with Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization President Over 11 Million Baht Dispute

Chalong Riewrang He recounted the moment he met with Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, President of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, to resolve the 11 million baht dispute, insisting he had no intention to shoot to kill.

At 13:20 on 10 August 2026, Mr. Chalong Riewrang, former Nonthaburi MP, stated that the motive and cause of the incident originated from Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert borrowing 11 million baht to fund his 2008 political campaign. Chalong had helped him several times as a friend and acquaintance without ever demanding repayment or compensation, seeing it simply as helping a friend.

However, after facing serious health problems with high medical expenses and no steady income, Chalong decided to contact the other party to request responsibility for the borrowed money. He emphasized that he only wanted to talk and reach an agreement. But when he tried to discuss the matter, an argument broke out, and the other party refused to negotiate and left the room. Chalong then followed to the car, trying to call him back to talk.

Chalong claimed that at that moment, the driver of the Provincial Administrative Organization president pulled out a gun. He said he acted in self-defense, not intending to shoot to kill. After the incident, Chalong said he saw the other party run away and believed the injuries were minor, so he did not pursue. He then took a motorcycle taxi to surrender himself, apologizing to the people of Nonthaburi, the Provincial Administrative Organization president, and his family.

Chalong also mentioned assistance related to securing a police superintendent position and political support, citing a third politician involved in helping with these matters. These statements are claims by Chalong, while police continue investigating and examining evidence to ascertain the facts and proceed legally.

Meanwhile, Pol. Lt. Gen. Wattana Yijin, Commander of Region 1 Police, stated that detailed questioning of the suspect is ongoing. There has been no official press briefing yet. The suspect may testify in any manner, but the true motive remains under investigation with evidence being collected and all parties involved, including the injured, being questioned about the incident.
