Regarding the case of Mr. Yut, or Bang Reem, 34, a mentally ill patient who became violent and caused a disturbance at Pracharat Bamrung School, a preschool to elementary level school in Moo 4, Bang Bua Thong subdistrict, then fled from police by driving against traffic, the incident happened at 14:30 on 11 August 2026.
Most recently, at 19:30 on 13 August 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirodom Sripanya, Chief of Investigation, Bang Bua Thong Police Station, along with investigators from Bang Bua Thong and Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Stations, arrested the suspect at a hotel in Bang Phun subdistrict, Mueang Pathum Thani district, Pathum Thani province, under Pak Khlong Rangsit jurisdiction. They seized the gray-black Honda Wave motorcycle without license plates used in the escape and took him to Bang Bua Thong police for investigation.
During questioning, Mr. Yut, or Bang Reem, said he did nothing to anyone and that he punched the car driver because the driver hit him first and struck him with a stick. He said the video shows his injuries and that he had to defend himself. He asked, “Am I wrong?”
Regarding entering the school, he said he just rode in without damaging anything or causing a disturbance. He claimed he had the right to ride through and cross the bridge. When asked about the school’s concern over his entry, he challenged them to provide evidence or video clips to prove any wrongdoing.
Mr. Yut added he rides his motorcycle with the headlights off on the road as part of his work to turn off lights. He insisted he did nothing wrong and if he did, he asked for an official summons. He also said he regularly rides with the headlight off to campaign against global warming because the world is hot and might explode.
Later, relatives came to Bang Bua Thong Police Station to visit the suspect. Police initially found his urine to be purple, and he admitted to daily methamphetamine use. Authorities will continue to detain him and proceed with legal actions.
