Khon Kaen Land Office to File Complaint Against Aunt Buakai for False Report Amid Abbots Doubt Over Heirs Halting Land Dispute

Khon Kaen land authorities are about to file a complaint against “Aunt Buakai” for making a false report concerning a request for a new land title deed, while the abbot does not believe the “heirs” will stop their land dispute activities.

On 18 Aug 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that officials from the Khon Kaen Land Department plan to file charges with Khon Kaen City Police Station against Mrs. Buakai Sornsamut, the fifth daughter of Mr. Hiang Pimsi and the estate manager, at 2:00 p.m. today.

Mrs. Buakai submitted a request on 27 Jul 2026 GMT+7 to issue a new land title deed replacing the original, claiming the original deed was lost while kept at her residence and was never mortgaged, pawned, or sold to anyone, causing no binding obligations.

Issuing a new deed can occur in two cases: lost deed or damaged deed. However, this case involves providing false statements to officials because the original deed is still held by Wat Pa Adulyaram. Fortunately, the procedure is still within the 30-day processing period. Whether others are involved in wrongdoing is for investigators to decide.

Meanwhile, devotees and disciples continue visiting Wat Pa Adulyaram to support Phra Kru Adulsaranithet, the abbot, who shows no signs of stress and remains able to smile and laugh normally.

A sign prohibiting the sale of goods has been posted in the temple, following the abbot's orders, due to concerns about appropriateness since the area is a sanctuary of merit.

The abbot stated he does not want to discuss the case further and declined interviews to avoid causing disturbances or implicating others. He noted that the matter is now before the court and expressed disbelief that the heirs will stop their activities regarding this issue.
