On 19 Aug 2026 GMT+7, amid the "Nan floods" at Ban Nam Lom, Nai Wiang Subdistrict, Mueang Nan District, Nan Province, Mr. Surapol Thiansut, Mayor of Nan Municipality, assigned Deputy Mayor Lt. Col. Nat Thiansut, Municipal Secretary Mr. Saknarint Inyod, Municipal Clerk Mr. Pokrisna Khamluang, and municipal officials to install water pumps at Ban Nam Lom. This action is to prepare for water management in the municipal area of Nan, expediting drainage from flood-prone zones. They also placed sandbag barriers at vulnerable points near the Phra Neth community.
Meanwhile, "Ple Nakorn," a well-known actor and member of the Thainaka Foundation, who has assisted flood victims in various areas previously, posted on Facebook about preparing to help residents suffering from flooding in Nan Province. He instructed his team to ready the necessary equipment and proceed ahead, stating, "Just left the hospital and flying out now. See you in Nan." He also posted an advisory saying, "Nan, prepare enough supplies for three days. We're on our way."
