Update on Nan Floods: Water Levels in Pua District Decrease Residents Warned to Monitor Situation Closely

Floodwaters in Pua District have decreased in level and are about to flow into Tha Wang Pha District, then on to Mueang Nan District. Residents in risk areas are warned to move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, and evacuate vulnerable groups.


On 19 Aug 2026 GMT+7, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) updated the flooding situation in Nan Province. Currently, water levels in Pua District have dropped. DDPM and agencies responsible for forecasting and water management are coordinating response plans. The water from Pua will flow to Tha Wang Pha District, then into Mueang Nan District, before reaching Wiang Sa District and subsequently flowing into Sirikit Dam in Uttaradit Province. The water is expected to take about 8-10 hours to reach Wiang Sa District.

DDPM and local authorities have issued warnings via the Cell Broadcast system to alert residents in risk areas to prepare in advance, especially vulnerable groups requiring special care, to evacuate to temporary shelters and safe zones.

Additionally, residents in risk areas are advised to move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles and other transport to safe locations, and closely follow official news updates, complying with safety instructions.
