On 21 Aug 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, Creative Director of the SIRIVANNAVARI brand, accepted an important role upon invitation from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to design ceremonial uniforms for the Thai national sports team. These uniforms will be worn at the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games, held in Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October 2026. The design aims to express Thai identity on the Asian stage through contemporary design, highlighting woven fabrics from the Don Khoi Model and the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques, instilling pride in all Thais.

The press conference unveiling the ceremonial uniforms for the Thai national team for the 2026 Asian Games took place on 21 August 2026 in the ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel Sukhumvit 20. Attending were Mr. Surasak Pancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mrs. Ratirat Julchat, Executive Vice President of the SIRIVANNAVARI brand, who shared insights behind the latest design work. The presentation included a video campaign and photos under the concept “The Art of Unity,” conveying the spirit of unity through representatives of Thai national athletes: View-Kulwut Wititsarn, male badminton player; Yu-Ballang Thapthimdaeng, male taekwondo athlete; Beam-Pimphicha Kokram, female volleyball player; and Ying-Sutasinee Sewatbutr, female table tennis player. Former taekwondo athlete Tennis-Panipak Wongpattanakit, a legend of the Thai national team, also joined to share the stories and spirit of Thai athletes through the modern ceremonial uniform designs of the SIRIVANNAVARI brand, alongside the dedication of villagers from Don Khoi who handweave indigo-dyed cotton fabric. This collaboration highlights determination, pride, and the power of unity as all join to cheer the Thai national athletes at the 2026 Asian Games.

Mrs. Ratirat Julchat, Executive Vice President of the SIRIVANNAVARI brand, revealed that participating in creating the ceremonial uniforms for the Thai athletes is a significant opportunity for the brand to share Thai identity with the world through the language of fashion. The Thai national athletes wearing the uniforms represent Thailand on the Asian stage. Previously, the brand showcased Thai fashion potential at Milan Fashion Week for two consecutive years. This time, the brand aims for everyone to feel the pride, unity, and stories of Thailand embedded in every design detail.

The designer, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari, is determined to integrate Thai fabric identity and wisdom with contemporary fashion by selecting handwoven indigo-dyed cotton from the Don Khoi Model in Sakon Nakhon Province and cotton fabrics from the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations as the core of these ceremonial uniforms. This reflects the value of Thai handicrafts born from dedication, meticulousness, and patience—qualities mirrored in the athletes’ journey of continuous training and determination to reach the Asian stage. The uniforms also symbolize the strength and encouragement from all Thais to the national sports team. At the same time, the attire emphasizes elegance, modernity, and practicality to suit real use.

Mr. Surasak Pancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, expressed deep gratitude for Her Royal Highness’s design of the ceremonial uniforms for the Thai athletes at the 2026 Asian Games. This represents a vital opportunity to showcase the potential of Thai fashion brands and traditional fabrics on the international stage through designs that reflect Thailand’s identity, culture, and wisdom in a contemporary form. The design not only focuses on beauty but also tells Thailand’s story through detailed elements, resulting in distinctive, elegant uniforms that effectively communicate Thai identity globally.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is confident that the ceremonial uniforms for the Thai national athletes at the 2026 Asian Games will not only instill pride among the athletes but also serve as a symbol of Thailand’s fashion and handicraft potential on the world stage.
