Sad News: Khun Yai Kamman, Younger Sister of Luang Por Koon, Passes Away at Age 100

Sad news: "Khun Yai Kamman," younger sister of Luang Por Koon, has passed away from old age at 100 years, 2 months, and 2 days. The family is holding funeral rites at Singharam Temple, Buachum Subdistrict, Chaibadarn District, Lopburi Province.

On 22 August 2026, reporters received the sad news that Khun Yai Kamman Wongkanchanarat, originally surnamed "Chatpolkrang," the blood sister of Phra Thep Witthayakhom, Luang Por Koon Parisuttho of Wat Ban Rai, Kudphiman Subdistrict, Dan Khun Thot District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, peacefully passed away from old age at her home in Ko Lang Village, Ko Lang Subdistrict, Chaibadarn District, Lopburi Province, on 21 August 2026 at 01:49 AM.

Luang Por Koon and Khun Yai Kamman grew up and faced life's struggles side by side since childhood, having lost their parents early on. When Luang Por Koon passed away, Khun Yai Kamman represented the family in submitting a request to Khon Kaen University to retrieve his remains for funeral rites at Wat Ban Rai in Dan Khun Thot District, Nakhon Ratchasima. Now, Khun Yai Kamman has peacefully passed away at the age of 100 years, 2 months, and 2 days.

Mr. Boonthed Wongkanchanarat, the second son of Khun Yai Kamman, revealed, "My mother and Luang Por Koon were siblings from the same parents, with Luang Por Koon being the eldest, my mother the second, and another younger sister who had passed away earlier. Normally, my mother lived at Buachum Village, Buachum Subdistrict, Chaibadarn District, Lopburi. Later, when she fell ill and could no longer care for herself, my younger brother, Mr. Sutthai Wongkanchanarat, took her to care for her at Ko Rang Village, Ko Rang Subdistrict, Chaibadarn District, Lopburi."

At first, my mother could still eat, so we regularly fed her by hand. However, she needed assistance with daily activities like sitting and standing, requiring help to clean and care for her body. After some time, swallowing became difficult, and she could no longer eat by herself, so we switched to feeding her through a tube for about two months. Toward the end, her body stopped accepting food, and feeding caused digestive issues, spasms, breathing difficulties, and blood pressure changes, eventually leading to a drop in blood pressure.

My mother passed away on 21 August 2026 at 01:49 AM at her home. She had donated her body to Khon Kaen Hospital, but her body did not meet the criteria to be used as a cadaver for teaching, so it was not sent to the hospital.

The family and relatives have held funeral rites at Singharam Temple, Buachum Subdistrict, Chaibadarn District, Lopburi Province since 21 August 2026. The special royal cremation ceremony is scheduled for 24 August 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same temple.
