The Khon Kaen City Police Chief revealed that in the false report case, a summons has been issued to "Aunt Buakai," the estate manager of Mr. Hiang, to acknowledge the charges. Additionally, two witnesses who certified the issuance of the replacement deed have been summoned for questioning on 4 September. He confirmed that no one has pressured the officials during the investigation process.
At 1:00 p.m. on 24 August 2026, a reporter inquired about case progress from Pol. Col. Yosawat Kaewsuepthannich, Chief of Khon Kaen City Police Station, regarding the incident on 18 August. On that day, Mr. Pongsuwat Chai Tonchuak, a Khon Kaen provincial land official, accompanied relevant staff to receive a request from Mrs. Buakai Sorasamut, estate manager of Mr. Hiang Pimsi, to issue a replacement land title deed claimed lost. She had submitted photocopies of the deed on 13 and 27 July 2026 and filed the replacement request with land officials.
Subsequently, the abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram filed an objection to the replacement issuance and submitted the original land title deed to request a name change from Mr. Hiang to the temple's name. Once the facts showed the deed was not lost, Mr. Pongsuwat Chai Tonchuak, the Khon Kaen land official, filed a complaint with Pol. Lt. Col. Pongrawee Onchiew, an investigator at Khon Kaen City Police Station.
Pol. Col. Yosawat Kaewsuepthannich, Chief of Khon Kaen City Police Station, disclosed that in the false report case, Pol. Lt. Col. Pongrawee has completed questioning the land officials who made the allegations. Two witnesses, Mrs. Boontawee Pimsi and Ms. Pornpimon Juimee, who signed to certify the deed loss report, were summoned today. The investigator scheduled their testimony for 4 September 2026.
The Khon Kaen City Police Chief added that the investigator has also issued a summons for Mrs. Buakai Sorasamut, estate manager of Mr. Hiang Pimsi, to acknowledge the charges on 15 September 2026. He emphasized that police are conducting the investigation in accordance with the law and have no concerns or external pressure affecting their work.
