Khao Laem National Park has announced the temporary closure of tourism activities at "Kring Krawia Waterfall" due to strong, fast-flowing water and rising levels caused by continuous rainfall in the area, with a warning for the public and tourists to exercise caution when traveling.
On 24 Aug 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that Khao Laem National Park in Kanchanaburi province announced the temporary closure of tourism at Kring Krawia Waterfall in Prang Plo subdistrict, Sangkhla Buri district. The closure followed heavy continuous rain, which caused a rapid rise in water levels in Kring Krawia Stream. The water flow became strong and muddy, washing away parts of the nature trail bridge near the waterfall. This measure aims to prevent potential dangers to tourists.
Sakorn Suebsai, Head of Khao Laem National Park, explained that due to several days of heavy rain, the water volume in Kring Krawia Stream has risen and flows strongly. Therefore, the park must temporarily close the waterfall area. They will consider reopening once water levels decrease and the situation returns to normal.
However, the Kring Krawia Coffee shop, food and beverage vendors, and park restrooms continue to operate normally for the public and visitors.
Additionally, a rockfall occurred from the mountain near Tham Lod Cave on Highway 323 close to Kring Krawia Waterfall. Park officials promptly cleared the debris from the road surface, placed traffic cones, and installed warning signs. Since rain continues intermittently in the area, the public and tourists are urged to be extra cautious when traveling and avoid risky areas as advised by authorities.
