At 14:30 on 26 Aug 2026, reporters reported that a document circulated on social media was a notice from Ratchadamri School on Chalerm Phrakiat Rama 9 Road Soi 28, Yak 3-1, Dokmai Subdistrict, Prawet District, Bangkok, regarding changes to the teaching format on 27 and 28 Aug 2026. It stated that threatening messages were spread via Line OpenChat, warning of violent acts within the school, causing concern among students and parents on 26 August 2026.
Under the authority of the Ministry of Education’s regulations concerning the opening and closing of educational institutions, allowing special closures when necessary, Ratchadamri School hereby announces a change in the teaching format on 27 and 28 Aug 2026 from normal on-site learning to hybrid online learning to avoid disruption to education. The circulated messages claimed that a violent act would occur at the school the next day, citing long-standing frustration. The sender said they reported it because a friend is in the group and did not want others to be harmed. They also claimed a gun had been brought into the school since Monday. The motive was said to be constant bullying and harassment, with teachers not intervening, and they apologized in advance to everyone.
Pol. Col. Chisanupong Suriyannot, Superintendent of Udomsuk Police Station, said that Ratchadamri School alerted the police early that morning. He and patrol officers, investigators, teachers, and students inspected suspected hiding spots for weapons but found nothing. Investigators are now checking to identify the poster for further questioning.
