Update on "Flooding in Bo Rai" after the rain stopped: water levels in the canal have dropped back to normal. Residents in risk areas are still urged to maintain close vigilance due to ongoing rainfall in Trat Province, which may bring flash floods from the Banthat Mountain Range.
Following the heavy continuous rain on 28 August 2026, flash flooding occurred in Bo Rai District, particularly in areas within the Bo Ploy Subdistrict Municipality, including Soi Ban Nu and residential estates.
In the evening, residents in vulnerable areas hurried to move their belongings and valuables to higher ground to prevent damage. After the rain ceased, water levels gradually began to recede.
On the morning of 29 August 2026, our team surveyed the Bo Rai canal area and found the water levels had dropped back to normal. Under the bridge, only some branches and clumps of grass carried by the current remained lodged in spots. Areas that were flooded the previous day have now fully returned to normal water levels.
However, Mr. Seri Samranjit, mayor of Bo Ploy Subdistrict Municipality, continues to warn residents in risk areas to closely monitor the situation, as rain is still ongoing in Trat Province and there may be flash flood flows from the Banthat Mountain Range into lower areas, causing further sudden flooding.
Residents in Bo Rai District are therefore urged to closely follow official weather updates and forecasts and to prepare themselves to respond in case of heavy rain or another flash flood event.
