A reporter noted that the Royal Gazette website published a Ministry of Interior announcement dated 26 Aug 2026 regarding the list of countries and territories whose passport or equivalent document holders entering the Kingdom temporarily for tourism are exempt from visa requirements and allowed to stay no longer than 30 days. It states the adjustment is appropriate to update the list to align with current conditions, taking into account national security, the economy, and the promotion of the country's tourism.
The announcement specifies the list of countries and territories whose passport or equivalent document holders entering Thailand temporarily for tourism are exempt from visa requirements and allowed to stay for no more than 30 days as follows:

Holders of passports or equivalent documents exempted from visa requirements for tourism, who are permitted to enter the Kingdom temporarily, may enter via authorized immigration checkpoints or land border crossings no more than twice per calendar year—except nationals of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, and Singapore, or other nationalities designated by the minister, who may enter more than twice per calendar year.
This announcement will come into effect 15 days after its publication in the Royal Gazette.
