The Meteorological Department has issued Bulletin 1 warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in upper Thailand. Check the provinces expected to be affected from 4-7 September 2026.

Between 4-7 September 2026, upper Thailand will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas, especially in the north and northeast regions. This is due to a monsoon trough crossing the north and upper northeast, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff. Especially those in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions should avoid traveling through frequently flooded routes, as short-term flooding may occur in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm "Sodel" in the upper South China Sea is expected to approach Taiwan between 5-7 September 2026. Travelers to this area should check weather conditions before departure. This storm will not move into Thailand.
