Laem Chabang Port Enhances Security with Vehicle and Personnel Screening Checkpoints

Laem Chabang Port has increased security after a U.S. warship docked, integrating forces with Laem Chabang Police Station to set up strict checkpoints for screening vehicles, individuals, and monitoring for suspicious activities.

On 2 Sep 2026 at 19:00, Veerachart Phuttharaksa, Deputy Director of Laem Chabang Port, presided over the opening of security checkpoints. The port's security department, together with Laem Chabang Police Station, integrated forces to establish inspection points at the port's entrances and exits to examine and screen vehicles passing through, as well as monitor individuals and suspicious items that could affect safety. Officers were instructed to perform their duties carefully and follow established procedures.

The Deputy Director of Laem Chabang Port stated that these measures align with Chonburi Province's security guidelines, which were discussed in a meeting on 28 August to prepare for the arrival of the U.S. aircraft carrier. The goal is to ensure the mission proceeds smoothly and safely.

Additionally, all units will coordinate closely, reporting any incidents or suspicious activities immediately to commanders and relevant agencies to maintain order within Laem Chabang Port throughout the USS Abraham Lincoln and U.S. Navy personnel's mission period.
