From 4 to 7 September 2026, upper Thailand will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, especially in the northern and northeastern regions. This is due to a monsoon trough crossing northern and upper northeastern areas combined with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents in these areas should be cautious of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands. Avoid traveling on routes prone to repeated flooding, especially in low-lying areas where short-term waterlogging may occur.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “Sodel” in the northern South China Sea is expected to make landfall in southern China tonight (3 September 2026) and likely weaken into a depression. Travelers to that area are advised to check weather conditions before departure. This storm will not enter Thailand.
