This morning at 7:00 a.m. (3 Sep 2026), at the front gate of Wachiraprakan Wittayakom School, classes were suspended for two days and replaced with online learning. The front metal gate was locked to prevent unauthorized entry.
The school's security guard reported for duty as usual this morning, removing traffic cones that had blocked the way. He briefly said that he was grazed by a bullet near his neck yesterday, causing minor injury and some ringing in his ears. After a medical checkup found no serious harm, he returned to work as normal.
A student interviewed about the incident said that at the time, classes had just ended and students were moving to another classroom. As he was leaving, he heard gunshots near the classroom door. After the first shot, students ran inside to take cover. Then a second shot was fired, so they closed doors and windows to hide inside. The back door was not locked in time, so they held it shut together. Outside, screams of frightened students were heard. No one expected such an event to happen at their school.
The reporter spoke with the shooter's mother, who revealed that her son had been stressed from daily bullying by classmates. He asked her to take him to see a doctor and he was prescribed medication, which improved his condition.
Another source of stress was the parents' separation, which saddened the boy. He requested to live with his mother for two weeks because staying with his father, a police officer, caused him stress. Currently on a study break, his mother has been bringing work home daily. The boy complained about wanting to attend school and be with friends rather than studying at home. Previously, he had posted chats with friends about bringing a gun to shoot at school, but no one expected he would steal his police officer father's gun and carry out the attack. The leaked chat caused public alarm.
