In Roi Et, CCTV captured a tense moment when a 25-year-old man driving a pickup lost control, hit a sign, then crashed into a house wall and died, narrowly missing a young couple arguing by the roadside.
At about 00:40 on 6 Sep 2026, Police Lieutenant Polpak Toempon, deputy investigation officer of Mueang Roi Et Police Station, received a report of a pickup losing control and hitting a road sign pole before crashing into a residential wall at 239, Village No. 20, Rob Muang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Roi Et Province. He coordinated with Nakhon Saket rescue units to investigate.
At the scene in front of a single-story house along the new bypass road, authorities found a black Toyota Vigo pickup with Suphanburi license plates severely damaged at the front. The driver was found critically injured and unconscious inside. Rescue workers urgently extracted him but were unable to save him. He was later identified as Kittipong Khamwong, 25, from Suphanburi Province.
Meanwhile, the homeowner whose wall was struck remained in shock from the incident. Debris from the vehicle was scattered on the road, requiring officials to clear the wreckage and manage traffic flow.
Reporters noted that CCTV footage at the time showed a man and woman parked in front of the house, then standing by the roadside while arguing. Shortly after, the pickup lost control and sped toward the same spot. Fortunately, the vehicle hit the sign and house wall first, sparing the couple from harm.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident to proceed with legal actions accordingly.
