He shockingly shot his wife, Mrs. Phailin Thongthach, 48, known as "Teacher Ple," fatally in front of a classroom inside Nong Plalai Municipal Kindergarten School. Police have surrounded the house and are negotiating with him. Supervisors, former police colleagues, and family members have tried to talk him into surrendering, but Lieutenant Tatpong has shown no intention to come out.
As of 21:30, the situation around Lieutenant Oh's home remains tense after more than eight hours of standoff. Lieutenant Oh continues to stay inside the house while over 50 uniformed and plainclothes police officers and commandos maintain a continuous tight perimeter around the residence.
