Latest update at 05:00 on 10 Sep 2023: Police Senior Sergeant Major Rachata, known as 'Sergeant Folk,' son of Police Lieutenant Tatpong or 'Sergeant Oh,' resumed negotiations. This time, he approached the house more closely. At times, the son could see his father standing near a window and tried to persuade him to come out peacefully, assuring his safety. The son also frequently called his father on the phone, which was answered, signaling improving communication. Police then began to spread forces to surround the house.
By 06:10, Senior Sergeant Major Rachata requested to negotiate alone with his father, moving closer to the house and continuously calling out to him.
At 06:20, Sergeant Oh came out and sat in front of the house. His son approached, embraced him, and both wept together before police moved in to control the situation. Sergeant Oh was then taken into custody and transported for further questioning at Bang Lamung Police Station. The entire siege and arrest operation lasted over 20 hours following the shooting incident.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Pongsapan Wongmanithets, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, stated that the suspect surrendered peacefully without resistance or further harm. The son successfully persuaded his father using reason. Currently, the suspect is under custody for further questioning. Preliminary investigations indicate no involvement of drugs or mental illness; the case arose from family problems.
