Bangkok expands the BKK Housing Matching Platform to the public, highlighting the 'Rent-to-Save' model to support workers in having housing close to the city, while preparing to hold the 2nd BKK Housing Expo from 9-11 October at Din Daeng.
On 9 September, Mr. Sanon Wangsangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, announced the BKK Housing Matching Platform event titled “Housing Close to Work for the People.” He said Bangkok has expanded the BKK Housing Matching Platform service from focusing solely on Bangkok personnel to the general public, especially workers and young people, to provide housing options matching their budget and preferred locations. The city is also promoting the 'Rent-to-Save' concept as a new option for those not yet financially ready, allowing them to start by renting while planning their finances to eventually own a home.
“This project began with government teachers, as it was found that many teachers return to their hometowns due to the cost of living in Bangkok. Therefore, the city recognizes the importance of providing housing close to workplaces with rent or mortgage rates aligned with their payment ability. As of 2 September 2026, the BKK Housing Matching Platform has over 3,912 users, 50 participating companies with 289 projects, and 60 housing units reserved. The 2nd BKK Housing Expo will be held from 9-11 October 2026 at Gymnasium 2, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japanese), Din Daeng, featuring over 60 booths from more than 30 real estate developers, showcasing a variety of housing projects in diverse locations and price ranges tailored to the income, location preferences, needs, and affordability of urban workers.”
