Update on the fire at a rubber mattress factory in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province: as of morning, smoke and flames remain visible; five trucks were damaged, and the entire warehouse was destroyed.
The fire incident occurred at a rubber mattress factory located in Bang Sai Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, around 9:30 PM on 9 September 2026. The 30-rai site saw thick black smoke billowing into the sky, visible from a distance, while flames fiercely engulfed the warehouse, accompanied by intermittent explosions.
As of this morning (10 September 2026), smoke and glowing flames are still visible outside the factory building. Officials continue to monitor and control the situation closely.
Meanwhile, the company has prohibited unauthorized persons from entering the factory grounds for safety reasons, as the building structure and warehouse suffered severe damage, with some sections already collapsing.
In front of the factory, some employees unaware of the fire arrived to prepare for their normal work shifts, some still in their work uniforms. Upon learning of the fire, they were unable to enter the premises.
Preliminary damage assessment shows approximately five trucks were damaged. The warehouse building, the fire's origin point, was severely damaged, burned completely with only the heat-damaged and partially collapsed structure remaining.
However, the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined. Authorities await the forensic team's detailed inspection to collect evidence and identify the fire's origin and true cause of the incident.
