Disturbance at Ayutthaya Juvenile Training Center Leaves 7 Injured

A fight broke out among youths inside the Ayutthaya Juvenile Training and Rehabilitation Center, injuring 7 people. Four were sent to hospital. The incident is suspected to involve a hazing ritual for newcomers, but the exact cause is still under investigation.

At 18:00 on 10 September 2026, Police Lieutenant Natthaphon Thepnarong, deputy investigator at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station, received reports of a fight with multiple injuries inside the Ayutthaya Juvenile Training and Rehabilitation Center in Hantra Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He promptly went to the scene with volunteers from Putthaisawan and Ruamkatanyu foundations, patrol police officers, and Department of Corrections staff.

At the scene, officials provided initial assistance to 7 injured individuals, mostly youths around 18 years old. Four had been assaulted causing bleeding, while three others suffered minor injuries from the altercation.

Officials transported the four seriously injured youths to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital for treatment. The three with minor injuries declined hospital transport.

Preliminary checks indicate the fight occurred inside the training center and may be linked to a "newcomer initiation" ritual. The injured were reportedly new youths, while the aggressors were from the older group.

However, the full details and exact cause remain under investigation by authorities. The training center has not released further information and has asked unrelated persons to leave the premises to maintain order and safety.
