Lampang — Netizens have uncovered another clip showing a man dressed like a Buddhist monk holding a microphone and singing on stage. The Lampang Provincial Office of Buddhism is currently investigating and considering actions after having already filed a complaint against one individual.
On 13 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that after a popular entertainment venue page in Lampang Province shared a clip of a singer dressed like a monk and wearing a large Palad Khik amulet, dancing with inappropriate gestures on stage, seemingly mocking a recent news case, the Director of the Lampang Provincial Office of Buddhism brought evidence to file a complaint against the singer and the venue with the Lampang City Police Station.
Recently, reporters found another posted clip from a different entertainment venue in Ko Kha District, Lampang Province. The video of a live performance from the previous night was posted on the band's page with the caption, “I don’t know which batch you’re wearing... our batch is dancing on stage. The monk said he’ll come dance again on Tuesday.”
The footage shows a male singer dressed like a monk singing on stage, removing cloth resembling a monk’s robe to reveal his underwear, then wrapping a yellow cloth like pants and continuing to sing until the end. After the clip spread, comments criticized the act as inappropriate and warned of legal consequences. The singer replied, “I already said what I was dressed as, and the yellow cloth I wore was just a tablecloth.”
The Lampang Provincial Office of Buddhism is currently investigating and considering bringing related charges against those involved.
