The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain in some areas across Thailand within 24 hours, warning of flash floods, mountain runoff floods, and landslides.

On 14 September 2026, the Meteorological Department forecasts that within the next 24 hours, the Northeast and East regions will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, while the North, Central, and South will have heavy rain in some locations.

Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods, mountain runoff floods, and landslides—especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones. They should avoid traveling through frequently flooded routes, particularly lowland areas prone to short-term flooding.

This is due to a monsoon trough passing through the upper South, East, and lower Northeast regions, entering a strong low-pressure area over central Vietnam, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon still prevailing over the lower Andaman Sea, lower South, and lower Gulf of Thailand.

Winds and waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand are moderate, with the upper Andaman Sea having waves about 2 meters high and waves exceeding 2 meters where thunderstorms occur. Boaters in these waters are advised to navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms.

Very heavy rain is expected in some areas of Ubon Ratchathani province.
