
Two brothers without money to hold a funeral took the body of their 42-year-old younger brother who died from illness and burned it in a rubber plantation. Villagers found them and quickly informed the police, who are now questioning them further.
At 17:30 on 13 Sep 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Komsan Padthom, Investigations Officer at Na Duang Police Station, Loei Province, received a report of a person being burned in the rubber plantation at Phu Hua Thanon, behind Nong Ped Ka Village, Moo 16, Na Dok Kham Subdistrict, Na Duang District, Loei. Upon receiving the report, he went to the scene with the investigative police, medical personnel, and rescue teams.
They found the deceased, a man later identified as Mr. Somkorn, age 42, whose body was badly burned. The suspects were two elder brothers with mental impairments, named Mr. Panya, age 60, and Mr. Samai, age 67, brothers of the deceased.
Investigation revealed that the deceased and the suspects were three siblings, all unemployed and mentally impaired. Somkorn, the youngest, had fallen ill and died. The two elder brothers, unsure of what to do and without money, took their younger brother's body about 3 kilometers from their home to the rubber plantation to burn it. Villagers discovered this and quickly alerted the police. The police have taken the two elder brothers to Na Duang Police Station for further questioning to establish the cause and facts.
