Nakhon Ratchasima – Residents have reported to the media that a road has been riddled with potholes for a long time, raising concerns about accidents. The President of Khun Thong Subdistrict Administrative Organization explained there is no budget to repair the road but is not ignoring the issue and has prepared a temporary solution by compacting crushed stone over the potholes while awaiting subsidy funds in 2028.
On 15 September 2026 in Nakhon Ratchasima, reporters reported that residents in Khun Thong Subdistrict, Bua Yai District, have complained to the media about the village roads being damaged with numerous potholes for a long time. This has caused significant inconvenience for locals in their daily travel, leading to fears of accidents, prompting them to raise their concerns through the media.
Recently, reporters interviewed Mr. Sompong Phongperm, President of Khun Thong Subdistrict Administrative Organization. He said that originally the road belonged to the Community Development Department. Upon taking office, he sent letters to several agencies to inquire, but found that no agency claimed responsibility for this road. As a result, the road has become the responsibility of the Khun Thong SAO as the local authority.
The SAO sent technicians to survey and found that the repair budget would be about 5 million baht, equal to the SAO’s entire development budget. Therefore, they cannot allocate funds for permanent repairs immediately, as the budget must be managed for other priorities first. However, the SAO held meetings to find a temporary solution by compacting crushed stone over the potholes to help residents while waiting for subsidy funds in 2028.
