The Meteorological Department warns that from 18 to 20 September, Thailand will continue to experience heavy rain in many areas, especially in the southern region. Several provinces should remain vigilant as the Andaman Sea will have strong winds and waves reaching 2 to 3 meters high, prompting small boats to refrain from going out to sea.
On 18 September 2026, the Facebook pageof the Meteorological Departmentposted a warning that from 18 to 20 September 2026, heavy rain will persist across many areas, beginning in the north and northeast, followed by the central, eastern, and southern regions.
Especially in the southern region, from 18 to 20 September, heavy to very heavy rain is expected. Residents are advised to stay alert for rain in Ranong, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, Satun provinces, as well as Phuket. The rain will then move toward the eastern side of the southern region.
Meanwhile, the Andaman Sea will continue to experience strong winds and waves of 2 to 3 meters. Mariners are urged to exercise caution. Small and medium-sized boats should avoid going out to sea due to the rough conditions until 21 September.
For upper Thailand on 18 September, the north, northeast, central, and eastern regions will see good rain distribution, with heavy to very heavy rain in the lower northern and lower northeastern areas. On 19 to 20 September, rain distribution will decrease in the north and northeast, while the central and eastern regions will still experience some heavy rainfall.
