On 18 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters stated that throughout the day, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has sent Cell Broadcast alerts warning of heavy rain in various northern and southern provinces. They are monitoring flash floods, flash floods from mountain streams, landslides, and river overflows, with the latest updates as follows.
The DDPM warned that accumulated rainfall has caused rising water levels in the Sa River at Wiang Sa District, with a continuing upward trend that may overflow riverbanks. This could impact riverside and low-lying areas, especially in Klang Wiang and Mae Sa subdistricts and nearby areas. Residents living by the river are urged to immediately move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, and move vulnerable groups. Those in risk zones should evacuate to safe areas. For assistance, contact local village heads, subdistrict municipalities, or administrative organizations.
The DDPM issued warnings of accumulated rainfall in Mueang Mae Hong Son and Khun Yuam districts with ongoing rain. Residents should watch for flash floods, flash floods from mountain streams, and landslides in lowland and foothill areas. They are advised to move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, secure valuables and important documents, be cautious of electrical hazards, and care for vulnerable groups.
The DDPM notified that heavy rainfall in Thap Prik Subdistrict, Mueang Krabi District, has caused rising water levels in the Krabi Yai Canal. Residents and businesses along the riverbanks, especially in villages 6, 7, and 8 of Thap Prik, Krabi Yai Subdistrict, and communities including Ruam Jai Chon, Ban Tha Khlong, and Muang Kao Phatthana in Mueang Krabi District and nearby areas, should monitor the situation closely. They should prepare by moving belongings to higher ground, relocating vehicles, securing valuables and documents, being cautious of electrical hazards, and caring for vulnerable groups.
Additionally, heavy rain in Huai Yung and Khok Yang subdistricts of Nuea Khlong District has caused rising water levels in Khlong Haeng and Khlong Inthanin canals. Residents and businesses in villages 4 and 5 of Huai Yung, villages 1 and 6 of Khok Yang, and nearby areas should be alert to possible riverbank overflow. They should monitor the situation, move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, secure valuables and important documents, take precautions against electrical hazards, and care for vulnerable groups.
The DDPM has collaborated with mobile network providers AIS, True, and NT to send flood warnings via Cell Broadcast.
