41-Year-Old Woman in Pattaya Gives Birth Suddenly Outside Popular Mall Amid Severe Abdominal Pain

A 41-year-old woman in Pattaya, unable to hold back severe abdominal pain, suddenly gave birth to a baby girl while standing outside a popular mall. Police and rescue teams quickly assisted and transported them to the hospital. Both are initially reported safe, but the mother is experiencing heavy bleeding and severe exhaustion.

At 11:00 AM on 19 September 2026, Pattaya City Sawang Boriboon Foundation Rescue Radio Center received a report of a newborn baby found outside a department store on Pattaya Second Road, Village No. 9, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Upon receiving the report, medical staff from Pattaya Hospital and police from Pattaya City Police Station were promptly dispatched to investigate.

Upon arrival outside the mall near the dinosaur puppet display fence, rescuers found a newborn female infant lying unclothed in a pool of blood with her umbilical cord still attached. At first, the baby did not cry, but when touched, she let out a loud cry. Motorcycle taxi drivers quickly covered and carried the infant while calling for emergency assistance. Meanwhile, the mother disappeared during the rescue of the baby.

Security guards of the mall and rescue teams spread out to search for the mother. They found her—identified later as Miss Arthitaya, 41, from Bangkok—looking exhausted and sitting inside the mall's ground floor restroom. It was also discovered that she had discarded the placenta in a trash bin. Rescue and mall security teams assisted her and took her back to the delivery area before transporting both mother and child to Pattaya Hospital.

Initial assessments showed the newborn female weighed 1.6 kilograms. Both mother and baby were reported stable but required close monitoring. The mother was suffering from heavy bleeding and severe exhaustion. She revealed this was her third pregnancy, approximately seven to eight months along. Earlier that morning, while resting outside the mall, she experienced severe abdominal pain and gave birth suddenly before rushing to wash herself in the restroom, where officials later found her.

Mr. Suchart, a 30-year-old motorcycle taxi driver and eyewitness, said that earlier in the morning he saw the mother sitting in the sun outside the mall before staggering and standing while holding onto the dinosaur display fence, appearing to be in the act of straining. Shortly after, the baby suddenly fell and lay on the ground as if just born. Mr. Suchart admitted everyone was very shocked at first, so they quickly helped the newborn and called for emergency assistance. The mother had walked away and was later found in the mall restroom.
