On 22 September 2026 at 05:00, Station C.2 in Nakhon Sawan recorded a water flow of 1,601 cubic meters per second. Combined with 140 cubic meters per second from the Sakae Krang River at Station Ct.19 in Uthai Thani Province, this water flows into the area upstream of the Chao Phraya Dam, resulting in a discharge rate of 1,300 cubic meters per second at the dam.
Therefore, the Royal Irrigation Department finds it necessary to increase the downstream discharge at the Chao Phraya Dam from 1,300 to 1,500 cubic meters per second. This adjustment will begin gradually from 07:00 today, increasing by approximately 25 cubic meters per second each hour until reaching 1,500 cubic meters per second around 15:00, after which the discharge rate will be maintained continuously.
The Royal Irrigation Department is closely monitoring rainfall, runoff, and upstream water volumes at the Chao Phraya Dam and managing water accordingly to balance water management and minimize impacts on downstream areas.
They urge residents and all relevant parties in low-lying areas along the Chao Phraya River and downstream zones to stay informed through official announcements and prepare for any changing water conditions. The department will continue monitoring the situation and provide regular updates to the public.
