On 23 September 2026, Mr. Sonthi Limthongkul, Mr. Nitithorn Lamluea, Mr. Panthep Puapongphan, and Mr. Phichit Chaimongkol jointly held a press conference to announce plans to submit a letter to the Election Commission (EC) on 25 September 2026 at around 10:00 a.m., urging an investigation and action concerning issues in the selection of senators.
Mr. Panthep stated that the EC's past resolutions have not fully addressed the current problems, as they have yet to fully implement the Constitutional Act or the 2018 Senate Selection Act comprehensively.
A key issue is the consideration of prosecuting 229 accused individuals under Section 62. The speakers believe the EC should prosecute these accused because the evidence from the 26th subcommittee's investigation is sufficient to show these individuals were involved in fraudulent actions related to the Senate selection, resulting in a process that was neither honest nor fair.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sonthi revealed that if independent organizations are formed through dishonest selection processes, it could undermine their independence and lead to political domination. He questioned whether the EC's failure to act on existing evidence might constitute neglect of duty or corruption.
