Heavy rainstorm hit Pattaya city for over an hour overnight, causing floodwaters exceeding 1 meter deep in several locations. Vehicles were submerged, and residents hurriedly moved their belongings in alarm.
At 01:00 on 24 September 2026, reporters reported that in Pattaya city, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province, heavy rain fell continuously for more than an hour, resulting in flooding across many parts of Pattaya. Some communities experienced sudden floodwaters rushing into homes, forcing residents to urgently move their belongings to higher ground in the middle of the night.
Additionally, several roads in Pattaya city, such as North Pattaya Road Section 3, Central Pattaya Road, Buakhao Alley in Central Pattaya, Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya, South Pattaya, and the road alongside the railway near Wat Tham Samakki community, were flooded with water levels reaching up to 1 meter. Small vehicles could not pass through. Many cars and motorcycles tried to drive through the currents but stalled their engines, prompting residents and Pattaya city officials to rush in to assist.
Reporters added that during the heavy rainfall causing flooding in multiple areas of Pattaya, some locations where water flows into the sea had strong currents. Garbage was swept along in the water flow, and several motorcycles were pushed over and carried away by the currents, resulting in damage.
Pattaya city officials deployed personnel to flood-prone areas to provide assistance and disseminate warnings to residents traveling through these points to prevent dangers from the currents and reduce traffic disruptions. If heavy rain continues, water levels may rise further. Residents using these routes are advised to exercise increased caution and avoid flooded areas until the situation improves.
After the rain stopped for about an hour, water levels on many roads began to recede and conditions returned to normal. However, if rain continues overnight, repeated flooding is expected.
