The Ministry of Interior, Region 3, partnered with Kamphaeng Phet residents to launch a land readjustment project in Trai Treng Subdistrict, transforming "dead-end land" into quality economic and residential areas, reducing disparities in access to government services.
On 24 Sep 2026 at 14:00, Mr. Jeset Thaiset, Deputy Minister of Interior, presided over the opening ceremony of roads and certificate presentation for the land readjustment project to develop Kamphaeng Phet province in Trai Treng Subdistrict, Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District. Mr. Kerdsak Yasothon, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, reported on the project. Mr. Chatip Rujanseree, Governor of Kamphaeng Phet, welcomed attendees. Also present were Mr. Patcharet Boonsirisaris, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior; Mr. Suwit Thuannoi, Chief Inspector of the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning; Mr. Kanathi Onnom, Public Works and Town & Country Planning Officer of Kamphaeng Phet; Mr. Suniran Thuam-yim, Director of the Land Readjustment Office for Development; Mr. Mitraphap Poonpermphan, Director of the Land Readjustment Fund Office for Development; along with local executives, community leaders, and residents.
Mr. Jeset Thaiset stated that the Ministry of Interior emphasizes sustainable urban development by avoiding land expropriation, focusing instead on cooperation with residents to convert dead-end land into quality economic and residential areas, thereby reducing inequalities in access to government services. He described this project as a model of successful urban development.
Mr. Pongnara Yenying, Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, noted that across 73 land readjustment projects in 54 provinces nationwide, more than 2 billion baht was saved from expropriation costs, and land values increased by over 50 billion baht, thanks to landowners' cooperation in allocating land for shared infrastructure development.
Mr. Kerdsak Yasothon added that the Trai Treng Subdistrict project covers about 116 rai, including 37 plots with 33 landowners willingly contributing land to the project. The government supported the initiative with a budget of approximately 46 million baht to construct main (Route G1) and secondary roads and dredge public ponds, increasing public benefit areas from 8 rai to 18 rai. Mr. Chatip Rujanseree added that this success solves dead-end land issues, improves travel convenience, and prepares infrastructure to support the community's growth, investment, and economic development in Kamphaeng Phet province in the future.
